The first step is conducting a workstation assessment for all workers, which generally takes about 15 minutes. Our physiotherapists can make on-the-spot alterations to the workstation, such as adjusting chair height and back support, and optimizing the position of the screen/screens, keyboard, mouse, and document holder, among others. They may also make further recommendations, such as the removal of armrests or the use of a footstool. During the assessment, our physiotherapists have a quick chat with the worker to determine if there are any issues that could be helped by physiotherapy intervention. We can then make bookings accordingly.
We further recommend a quick 10-15 minute physical screening of all workers to identify any underlying issues (that may not yet be symptomatic) that could be addressed by physiotherapy intervention.
For employees experiencing any musculoskeletal pain or issues, we conduct an assessment to determine the underlying causes, provide a diagnosis, and recommend a treatment plan. This process takes approximately 30-45 minutes.
Physiotherapy intervention can include, but is not limited to the following techniques, depending on the type, severity and location of the injury. Treatment sessions generally range from 10-30 minutes:
- Manual Therapy (massage, joint mobilisation, stretching, taping)
- Advice/Education (diagnosis, prognosis, activity modification, load management)
- Provision of equipment
We facilitate communication and referral with various parties as needed, including doctors/GPs, imaging services, specialists, and insurance/rehab consultants.
